Artist Bio
Stephen Lao was born in
Rangoon, Burma, studied in India and the Netherlands, then migrated to
the United States in 1991. He received a Master’s Degree in
Environmental Science & Technology from the International Institute
for Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering, Delft, The Netherlands in
1991, and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from the
University of San Francisco in 1995. He was trained and worked as an
Environmental Engineer but always enjoyed working in all kinds of art
media. Sketching, painting, floral arrangement, origami, jewelry design
and beading are some of the talents he exhibits at various places
including Martinez Art Gallery in California.
